NIPPON EA-9 RED OXIDE PRIMER
DESCRIPTION :
Type : Two components. Low gloss Amine-adduct cured Epoxy primer.
Uses : As a primer and intermediate coat for epoxy finishing coat on steel, concrete, plaster, brick and most type of building boards and blocks.
FEATURES :
► Excellent mechanical film properties such as film hardness, adhesion and abrasion resistance.
► Outstanding resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Resistance to water, alkaline, chemicals, oils, solvents, mild acids, crude oils, fats, cutting oils, etc.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS :
Colour : Red oxide.
Finish : Smooth finish.
Gloss (60 °) : Matt.
Paint Viscosity : 80±2 KU at room temperature 25ºC.
Specific Gravity : 1.35 ± 0.03kg per litre at room temperature 25ºC.
Solid Content (NV) : Approximately 50 % by volume. (for mixture of Base and Hardener)
Paint Coverage (3% loss factor) : Theoretical: 11.8m²/litre
Practical: 11.4m²/litre (at 40µm DFT per coat)
Flash Point : Above 15º C
Shelf Life : Up to 6 months when stored in tightly sealed containers below 30º C.
APPLICATION DATA :
Surface Preparation : The surface must be dry and clean and free from abrasive residues and other contaminants before the paint is applied. Ensure that the humidity is below 85% and moisture content must be below 6 that check by Sovereign Moisture Meter.
Paint Mixing Ratio : Base - 9 parts by volume
Hardener – 1 part by volume.
Mix thoroughly and allow 30 minutes waiting period before use.
Nippon EA-9 Red Oxide Primer
Thinner : Thinner Nippon SA-65.
Thinning : About 10% by volume.
Pot life : Approximately 6 hours at 30º C.
Dry Film Thickness : 40µm per coat. (89µm wet film thickness).
Application Method : Preferably roller.
Drying Time : Dry to touch: 30 minutes at room temperature 25ºC to 30ºC.
Dry to Handle: After 16 hours at room temperature 25ºC to 30ºC
Over coating Time : Minimum: 16 hours at room temperature 25ºC to 30ºC.
Maximum: 7 days at room temperature 25ºC to 30ºC.
Curing Time : 5 - 7 days at 30ºC.
GENERAL INFORMATION :
Packing : 20 litres (Base - 18 litres, Hardener - 2 litres)
5 litres (Base - 4.5 litres, Hardener - 0.5 litre).
Precaution : It contains volatile and inflammable solvents. Ensure adequate ventilation during use and avoid using near fire.
